It’s Story Time:
It all started five years ago. With a university lecture on a unique methods of farming called aquaponics.
I knew my grandmother was looking for ways to generate revenue on the family farm, would she go for this idea? Nervously, I approached her.
My dad and his friend Gary, were both recently retired and looking for something to do so they jumped in to help with the build, and suddenly, my dream had roots!
So here we are, five years later with one of only a handful of aquaponics farms in all of Canada.
What I’m most proud of is that this is truly the future of farming. Using 90% less water and with 7x times the yield in the same space, we are significantly more sustainable than traditional farming.
In addition, we achieve an almost zero waste product. People can even bring back the container from the farmer’s market for a lettuce refill.
And my dream continues to grow. MY PLAN IS TO HELP THE PLANET VIA THIS METHOD OF FARMING
Our mission is to bring truly sustainable food production year-round to our local communities.
To inspire sustainability by connecting communities to local fresh produce.
We incorporated in 2017, and after battling everything from building permits to relentless poison oak we have finally built a state of the art aquaponics system in Markham.
